Sometimes serious matters are, well, serious, but that’s why we have humor! Both comedy and tragedy, can express the same message and touch on the same points; the difference is in the presentation.
In a stand against BP, and oil companies in general who rely on PR to cleanup their messes, Greenpeace has published a ScamWow faux-mercial. The hilarious YouTube video mocks BP’s efforts to get down and dirty in order to protect our waters, animals, environment and Gulf livelihoods destroyed by the oil spill.
Anyone who has worked the graveyard shift or had a bout of insomnia knows the ShamWow commercial! Man, those things can soak up some water!
But what about oil? According to the ad, “Whether you’re in Louisiana, Alaska, Nigeria, or Ecuador, ScamWow will meet all your oil spill cleanup needs.”
The enthusiastic presenter claims that ScamWow beats the heck out of spending millions of dollars on cleanup methods. And clean energy, well that takes time and effort. Boring! Who want’s to deal with that?
Sometimes you just have to laugh.
