Gulf Aid Benefit to Feature Lenny Kravitz

Lenny KravitzThe search for answers and actions concerning the gulf oil spill continues daily. While this isn’t the first spill, it is of little help for scientists to look at previous circumstances for clues.

Everything we know now has been a conglomeration of past events, but no two have been alike. What we do know is that if oil continues to leak at the current rate the ocean ecosystem and shoreline will be ravaged. It will affect the economy, our food supply and animal populations.

Sure, we may all feel the damage, but for the gulf fisherman it will directly devastate their lives as they will no longer be able to support their families. Their livelihood will be gone, bogged up in the oil that will take away their jobs.

So how does New Orleans cope with the tragedy yet to unfold? With music, of course! Lenny Kravitz, a part-time NOLA resident will headline a benefit concert on Sunday to raise money for fisherman and those who make their living through the gulf waters.

The event will be produced by Rehage Entertainment, Inc, (RE:) a production company well-versed in helping out communities and organizations through these shows and concerts. Previous endeavors include an evolving art installation for Brad Pitt‘s nonprofit Make It Right’s The Pink Project and the production of the EIF Revlon Run/Walk for Women to fight cancer. RE:, along with Kravitz and his fellow musicians, is now helping these fisherman get a head start on what may become catastrophic to their families and their beloved ocean.
