From now on, every time you open a Hershey’s milk chocolate bar (including those with almonds), you’ll find a “thank you” message from the company, according to a press release.
They’re not thanking you for eating chocolate, though surely your sweet tooth is a boon to their business, but for being a generous person. That’s right, eating a Hershey’s bar makes you happy and good at the same time!
As a purchaser of a Hershey’s bar, you’re a supporter of the Milton Hershey School, whether you know it or not. The school, which was founded in 1909 by Milton and Catherine Hershey, gives very needy children a positive place to live and learn. Students live at the school in family-style dorms and receive a pre-K through 12th grade education.
The back of every candy bar wrapper will contain the message, “Every Hershey’s product you’ve enjoyed has helped support children in need through Milton Hershey School. Thank you for making a difference!” The special shout-out is a way of marking the school’s 100th anniversary.
One more reason to eat chocolate. So much for that New Year’s resolution.
