With deep care for humanity, journalist Hoda Kotb has reported on a wide variety of domestic and international stories over the course of her career — from the aftermath of Hurricane Karina, which particularly touched her since she lived in New Orleans for six years, to 12-year-old twin warriors said to have magical powers in Burma.
Currently, she co-hosts the fourth hour on MSNBC‘s TODAY alongside Kathie Lee Gifford as well the weekly series, Your Total Health. This month, Kotb released her memoir entitled Hoda: How I Survived War Zones, Bad Hair, Cancer, and Kathie Lee.
It’s clear that Kotb has a lot going on, but the New Yorker took some time today to reduce hunger in her area. Kotb rushed from the NBC studio and joined close to 50 volunteers at the Food Bank for New York City’s Community Kitchen & Food Pantry of West Harlem. The event was part of a larger effort with the Entertainment Industry Foundation‘s iParticipate and AARP‘s Create the Good initiatives, both devoted to inspiring and encouraging others and making volunteering easy.
