How Crocodiles Cross Oceans

Crocodile.jpgHave you ever wondered how the world’s largest living reptile, the saltwater crocodile, reaches islands throughout eastern India, southeast Asia, northern Australia and many other smaller ones in between?

They’re known for not being the best swimmers and rely on land for food and water. So how do they travel such long distances?

Researchers now reveal that the giant crocs catch currents in the ocean surface. They can’t survive for long in salt water so they only travel when the currents are favorable.
