I’m down for a psychedelic mushroom pizza, but infected mushrooms? Well, if the pizza tastes as good as the music sounds, that’ll be alright with me.
The electro-rockers Infected Mushroom have partnered with the Mellow Mushroom pizza chain for the “Legend of the Black Shawarma Pizza.” Starting tomorrow, the Bohemian-chic southeastern pizza chain with debut the new pie, which, as the name implies, will be topped with shawarma. The pies will also come in boxes that direct pizza-eaters to this website where they can access a free download (with code from the box sticker) by the L.A.-based, Israel-born duo.
The promotion — which will run at 10 Mellow Mushroom locations — is meant to help promote their recently released new album, “Legend of the Black Shawarma.” The disc, produced by superstar DJ Paul Oakenfold, features the lead single “Smashing the Opponent” with Korn vocalist Jonathan Davis.
Says Infected Mushroom’s Amit Duvedevani about the new disc, “There’s a lot of material about getting your grub on.”
