New York’s Other Terminal 5

Most every NYC music fan has been to Terminal 5 on the upper west side, but now there’s a new terminal 5 rockin’ tunes at John F. Kennedy airport. The latest T5 is actually JetBlue Airways’ stylish new wing at JFK, and it’s celebrating in style by hosting a six-month, 12-date concert series.

That layover just got a little more bearable.

Produced in connection with Superfly Marketing Group, the Live from T5 series has already booked artists like American Princes, Alberta Cross, Justin Townes Earle and Juliette Commagere. Five more spots are currently open that will be filled by aspiring artists who upload original tunes and receive the most online votes. One such artist will also get the chance to open for a headlining act at the real Terminal 5 music hall (or a similar NYC venue). Winners will be announced the first week in August.

“JetBlue not only provides the most free live entertainment in the skies — we also seek to provide unique entertainment experiences for our customers on the ground in our brand new, state-of-the-art terminal,” said Kim Ruvolo, manager brand for JetBlue Airways.

Nicole Atkins performs tonight, while other artists will perform each Friday (except Aug. 7) through the summer and then on select Fridays after Sept. 4.
