If you’re in need of someone to motivate you, Jillian Michaels wouldn’t be a bad choice. In fact, the woman will get in your face and motivate the living crap out of you. If you need any proof of this, check out any The Biggest Loser episode she appeared in. As if the woman isn’t busy enough being a best-selling author, personal trainer and host of NBC’s Losing It With Jillian, she’s also taking the time to join Major League Baseball and legendary Angels player Bobby Grich at MLB’s All-Star Weekend to help with the game’s Charity 5K & Fun Run.
According to this MLB release, the run takes place on Sunday, July 11, two days prior to the All-Star Game, in Anaheim, Calif. Presented by Sports Authority and Nike, the event benefits the Prostate Cancer Foundation, Stand Up To Cancer, Susan G. Komen for the Cure and City of Hope. Each organization will benefit, as 100 percent of the registration fees will be donated by Major League Baseball.
The 5K will begin bright and early, at 7:30 a.m., followed by the 1-mile Fun Run at 8:00 a.m. The race course, starting outside of Angel Stadium at Anaheim, will be baseball-themed and runners will have the opportunity to see mascots, celebrity guests and MLB legends. After going through the surrounding neighborhoods, participants will finish up inside the stadium. Every finisher will not only collect a commemorative All-Star medal and a T-shirt, but will be cheered on by Michaels, who’ll congratulate people at the finish line and hand out the medals. For those in Southern California interested in registering, fees are discounted if you sign up before July 6. You can get registration and event information here.
