A Donkey and Zebra is Called a …

zedonk.jpg

Donkebra, zonkey? A rare cross breed called a “zedonk” was just born at the Chestatee Reserve in Georgia. The foal, which has a zebra father and donkey mother, was named Pippi Longstocking because of the black stripes on its little legs!

The reserve’s founder CW Wathen told reporters that the newborn has zebra’s instincts, saying it sits up instead of lying on its side, as if it is staying alert for predators.

Donkeys and zebras do not usually mate, but zedonks sometimes turn up! The newbie is said to be in good health.
