Is That a Circus or Are You on Your Way to Work?

At the annual VEVA electric vehicle show in Vancouver last Sunday, a CNN reporter caught up with Justin Lemire-Elmore, who at 15 years old, is on a mission to make commuting on a unicycle feasible. Fascinated by alternative energy sources, Lemire-Elmore has constructed an one-wheeler with a battery pack that assists in taking a heavy load off of those spinning legs.

After giving a demonstration on how the uni works, he shares how he recently took the electric unicycle on a 3,000 foot climb up Mount Diablo in San Francisco, using a small battery to get to the top. The battery then recharged halfway on his descent.

Lemire-Elmore aspires to ride it from Canada to Mexico next summer.
