Kate Middleton Invites Her Butcher to the Royal Wedding!

kate_middleton.jpgOk, are we the only ones who didn’t get invited to the royal wedding?

We already learned (and celebrated!) that major British philanthropists got invitations to the blockbuster wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton coming up on April 29. Now comes word that down-to-earth Kate didn’t forget her hometown when it came time to mail the 1,900 invites.

Several people from her hometown of Bucklebury in Berkshire, south-central England, will be making the journey to the event of the year. Middleton’s family reportedly made sure to include the postman, the landlord of a local inn, the proprietors of a convenience store and the neighborhood butcher and his wife.

The butcher, Martin Fidler, said, “We’re really looking forward to the day. We’ve known Kate’s mother, Carole, for years, before she met Kate’s father, Mike. They’ve got on with their lives, built up a good business, and their children are a credit to them.”

Convenience store owner Chan Shingadia added, ”We’ve really got to know Kate. She is really caring. She is like a human being, not a celebrity, and she is always a good customer. William is very down to earth.”
