Lady Gaga has sparked a universe of little monsters. Don’t believe us? Take a tally of how many Gaga costumes you see on Halloween — and be sure to take an entire pad of paper because you’ll need it. One imitator is Miss England, Jessica Linley, who wore a vegetarian gown designed by Karen Karmody, in response to Gaga’s infamous meat frock (at right).
The singer has also sparked a number of social movements and today, reached the 1 billion mark on YouTube. That’s right, Gaga beat out Justin Bieber to become the first artist to hit that many views. Now, it’s not just anecdotal, Halloween costume evidence of how fans love Gaga, there’s the 1 billion views statistic. And how fabulous is it that we’re not watching some leaked John Edwards sex tape or Delaware‘s Christine O’Donnell talk about how she dabbled in witchcraft? Instead, we’re voting with a click of a mouse to say we’re for Gaga, which in turn means we’re for gay rights, healthy food options and the fight against AIDS.
“We reached 1 Billion views on youtube little monsters! If we stick together we can do anything. I dub u kings and queens of youtube! Unite!” Gaga tweeted this morning.
Better grab a crown to go with your Gaga Halloween costume, oh, and maybe some rib-eye steak.
