Wow, that’s not the typical headline you see on Tonic, but let us assure you that good triumphed over evil on last night’s episode of Glee. When Lea Michele‘s character, Rachel Berry, discovered that guest star Charice Pempengco‘s character, Sushine Corazon, had one sweet set of pipes, she sabotaged her chances of auditioning by sending her to a literal crackhouse. We don’t know if those actually exist in Ohio, but they definitely do on the set of Glee as Corazon returned to school the next day, having her sheet music stolen.
Berry said she’d make it up to Corazon, but she didn’t have to. Cheerleading coach Sue Sylvester called rival glee club Vocal Adrenaline to get back at Will Schuester (more on that later), and Corazon landed herself an agent and a green card for her mom. Natch! See, we told you good triumphed over evil, even though Vocal Adrenaline is a bit evil, but still…
And if that wasn’t enough sugary goodness for you, Mr. Shue, who had teamed up with Sylvester to bully the new football coach and regain his slashed budget (that went to the athletics program), righted his wrongs. He recognized that being a jerk doesn’t pay off. Well, maybe it does for some people, but Shuester has a conscience, and he made amends with Shannon Beiste, immediately prompting Sylvester to serve him poop brownies. Yuck! We never said being nice was easy.
But back to Pempengco. We’re glad the singer is getting even more attention stateside by her guest spot on FOX’s hit show. We reported in May about her appearance on the Oprah Winfrey Show and how the Filipina is on a mission to do good by sponsoring a World Vision child and being an ambassador for Operation Smile. With her celebrity on the rise, we’re itching to see how she’ll continue to use that rockin’ voice to better the world.
