MAC Presents Gives Back

MAC Presents, a music sponsorship agency in Nashville, Tenn., has a system in place that ensures its clients, employees and their employees’ favorite charities all get the TLC they need.

Every month, the entertainment company lets one of its ten full-time employees choose his or her favorite charity and then takes the group on a “field trip” (and you’re never too old for a field trip) to work with that particular organization.

It’s a unique idea that not only allows MAC employees to give back to their community but also validates each employee’s passion and interest while bringing the team closer together than a day in the office could ever do.

Some of the organizations with whom MAC has worked include YANA House, a Nashville shelter for battered women; YMCA camp; CASA, an organization that protects neglected children; and The Birdhouse Thing.

The latter of those organizations is especially near and dear to MAC as President Marcie Allen is co-chair of The Birdhouse Thing.

The event brings together local celebrities, artists and public figures to decorate 150 birdhouses that are later auctioned off to raise money for the W.O. Smith Nashville Community Music School, an organization that provides music lessons to children of low-income families in Nashville.

President Obama invited 40 students from the school to perform at the White House Tuesday. Several of the students’ trips were funded by MAC.

MAC offers sponsorship integration, event management, talent booking, marketing, production and more to its music industry clients. President Marcie Allen has received numerous awards and recognition from organizations like Billboard Magazine and Business Tennessee Magazine.

The music industry often gets a bad rap for being all about the money, but companies like MAC are changing that image for the better.
