Elyse Frankcom is one lucky lady. When she was leading a group of 33 snorkelers on a dolphin swim in Australia this past Saturday, a 10-foot-long great white shark (as experts have reported) bit her in the derriere.
A nearby swimmer who was part of the group dive pulled the shark’s tail and got Frankcom back in the boat. That modest hero’s identity is currently unknown. BBC reports that all he would say when he arrived on land is, “No comment, thank you. It’s cool. All I want is the girl to be OK.”
The hospital pulled the tooth out of Frankom’s skin. She’s holding on to that as proof.
According to Australia’s Courier Mail, Frankcom was wearing a shark shield that actually repels the hungry animals, but the great white went for her anyway. The young woman recently wrote on her Facebook page, “Wat doesn’t kill u only makes u stronger!” Good attitude girl!
