Green lifestyle website TheDailyGreen.com has named Matt Damon and Leonardo DiCaprio as its Hearts of Green winners, crowning them the greenest celebs in tinseltown.
The site also awarded Jane Goodall a lifetime achievement award, named the Nissan Leaf as the greenest new car and named H&M the best new sustainable fashion line.
Damon was the site’s Editor’s Pick for greenest celeb and is being recognized for his recent focus on the global issue of clean water. His nonprofit, Water.org, combines web 2.0 savvy, micro-loans and star power into a global, action-focused movement that is digging wells, safeguarding supplies and advocating for justice around the world, especially in distressed regions like Haiti.
DiCaprio was the People’s Choice winner (with more than 20,000 folks voting!). He is being honored for his commitment to battling global warming.
