If the Terminator, Hulk Hogan and one half of Sonny and Cher can secure posts in public office, who’s to say the Naked Cowboy can’t be the Mayor of New York City?
Robert Burck, better known as the dude in Times Square who strums the guitar in nothing but briefs and boots, officially announces his candidacy for the New York Mayor’s office today.
The 38-year-old Cincinnati native will challenge the current Mayor Mike Bloomberg on a platform supporting small business. Burck tells the New York Post: “No one knows how to do more with less than yours truly, and that’s the kind of thinking I plan on sharing with my fellow New Yorkers when you elect me.” He also promises new ideas on tax breaks, tourism, gay marriage, transit and homeland security.
If nothing else, this race should make for colorful debates. And in these bare times, anything goes. So watch out Bloomberg — and make sure you’re wearing clean underwear!
