It’s 10 a.m. and I Haven’t Had My Coffee Yet

girl_with_coffee_mug.jpgWho gives a flying flip that it’s National Coffee Day?! Not me, but evidently you do because you clicked on this darn post. You probably celebrate IBS Awareness Month too, don’t you? You even Facebooked it. Literally. What does that say about America? Shouldn’t you be reading about how you can save a horse from euthanasia or how you can save school from becoming one big suckfest? Something. Hold on. Going to grab some of that joe all the kids are drinking these days. Damn kids.

Ahhh. That’s better. What was I saying? Oh yeah. It’s National Coffee Day, folks, and I hope you have had a good one so far. I’ve read online that some people celebrated National Beer Drinking Day yesterday (even though the actual date is debatable), which it’s probably no coincidence why today is highly caffeinated. Where’s my National Gatorade and Bagel Day? We should declare that holiday too. Gotta give those electrolytes and carbs some love, right? They’ve had it tough since the world went on this diet craze.

But back to java. It’s your day, after all. Your time to shine like sunflowers in the summer sun. So beautiful how they sway back and forth in the breeze. Sorry, I’m really going to focus now. Kinda hard when my brain is so stimulated. Anyway, did you know that a recent study conducted by — who else — a coffee company, said more than half of us would give up our cell phones than our morning coffee? To which, I say, “Duh!” You can’t talk on your phone before you’ve had your morning life elixir! Silly scientists telling us stuff we already know. Hmm … maybe they meant something different by that. Something about meaning and life and addiction.

Want more coffee love? How about that a cup of McDonald’s joe saved the place from being robbed in August. Super coffee to the rescue! Or that shade-grown coffee is literally saving farmers’ well-being and the rainforest? The best yet? That fair trade coffee is a win-win for both the consumer and the manufacturer. It’s all really refreshing news.

Oh well, it’s time for my second cup, but before I leave you, everyone’s favorite barista has just announced that the pumpkin spice latte is BACK! Wahoo! That’ll get you pumped for the day like, well, this guy in the video below.

Happy National Coffee Day, everybody!
