This weekend marks the 17th anniversary of Nirvana’s stage-smashing performance at the Reading Festival in the UK. This classic live set, for which Kurt Cobain took the stage in a wheelchair, is their most bootlegged concert, but it’s being made available in time for the holidays on DVD and CD.
Nirvana Live at Reading comes out Nov. 3 in both formats as well as in a deluxe CD-DVD pack. A double-vinyl version will follow two weeks later. What are some of the songs we can expect? The official track listing includes such blistering gems as “Breed,” “Aneurysm,” “Come As You Are,” “Lithium,” “Polly,” “Smells Like Teen Spirit,” “Territorial Pissings” and a handful of cover tunes. In total, the DVD will feature 25 songs, and the CD slightly less.
You have a few more months until the album comes out, so in the meantime, check out this YouTube clip of “Breed” and “Territorial Pissings.”
