No One As Irish As Barack O’Bama

Out of all the good things that we hope to happen once Barack Obama takes office, some good has already been happening to a little known Irish band. The band, the Corrigan Brothers, has been playing around Ireland for years, but has a recent hit after some research into the President-elect.

Barack Obama’s roots have possibly been traced to 18th-century Ireland and a village called Moneygall in County Offaly, or so goes the song. With this, the band has highlighted Obama’s Irish heritage with the song, “There’s No One As Irish As Barack O’Bama.” It’s getting a large amount of airplay, and also many views on YouTube.

Since writing the song, the Corrigan Brothers landed a record deal with Universal Records, and the band has a huge hit on its hands. They have been asked to play at the inauguration party in Washington, D.C., and the band is bringing Obama’s ninth cousin, Henry Healy, with them. According to the Corrigan Brothers, Obama loves the song and is known to sing it in the shower. If only we could get a copy of that on YouTube.

I wish them well with the song, and also the appearence in Washington — who knows who might join them on stage? You can see the video below and find out more about the song here.
