Everyone is sad to see Paula Abdul leave American Idol, but everyone’s favorite talent show is bringing in some big guns to help fill her high heels. The Fox show recently announced that Katy Perry and Victoria “Posh Spice” Beckham, among other new female guests, will lend an ear in the judging department. Procurers say they are still seeking a permanent replacement for 2010′s ninth season, but these are pretty good substitutes in the meantime.
According to reports, Abdul quit the show after failing to procure an adequate enough new contract. Of course, as Lakers fans saw with Lamar Odom, you should never close the door on a last minute comeback! (The network would also love the 80s pop star to join their other talent show, So You Think You Can Dance, meaning she might be back just on another Fox show.)
Regardless, Perry and Beckham are both confirmed for the ever-entertaining auditions. They will be joining the regular cast, including Kara DioGuardi, whose contract was renewed last week.
With guest judges in place, we can only hope that Adam Lambert makes a guest appearance during the auditions and performs Perry’s “I Kissed a Girl.” Now that would be entertainment!
