Thrilla in Manila 2

The Cebu Provincial Detention and Rehabilitation Center created a stir when its 1,500+ inmates staged a giant reenactment of Michael Jackson’s famous “Thriller” video back in 2007. To date, the YouTube clip has been viewed over 25 million times. Upon hearing the news of Jackson’s death, the Philippine prisoners were at it again with a loving tribute to the King of Pop.

Assembled and choreographed in just 10 hours, the CPDRC inmates crafted a nine-minute dance route to Jackson’s “Ben” and “I’ll Be There.” As with “Thriller” and their other routines, the incarcerated prisoners can still bust a mean move and inspire us all. Jackson himself would undoubtedly be touched.
