Photo Gallery: International Day of Climate Action

On October 24, the international climate change movement, as GOOD Magazine put it, “came of age.” It was 350.org‘s International Day of Climate Action. Across the globe people found creative ways to visually document their support. The call: for the global community to bring the Earth’s atmospheric carbon dioxide down to 350 parts per million, which is the level scientists consider safe.

Founded by Bill McKibben, 350.org aims to raise the level of urgency surrounding the climate debate. And indeed, the event succeeded in raising the stakes in a creative and engaging way. People in 181 countries submitted their own expressions of the importance of 350:

Vilandai, India

Sydney, Australia

Koprivnica, Croatia

Santa Cruz, California, USA

Mexico City, Mexico

Kunar, Afghanistan

There are many more where these came from. To submit your own 350-themed images, e-mail photos@350.org with the photo attached, your city and country as the subject and the caption and credits in the body of the e-mail.
