The British Are Coming
Well, one very famous Brit royal is coming. Prince Harry will play in the third annual Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic on New York City’s Governors Island on Sunday, June 27, 2010. All proceeds from the polo match (so British!) will benefit American Friends of Sentebale, the US arm of the global charity founded by Prince Harry and Prince Seeiso of the Lesotho Royal Family, which aims to better the lives of the underprivileged, at-risk children of Lesotho, Southern Africa. Sentebale combines thoughtful aid giving with effective businesslike methods and transforms the lives of Lesotho’s orphans and vulnerable children. It is a royally good cause as well as a deliciously fun event.
Spectators will get to watch Nacho Figueras, captain of the Black Watch team, go head-to-head with Harry. While the event does ask folks to buy tables to benefit the charity, it is also free and open to the public.The most fun part of the day (besides prince ogling, of course)? The clothes. Classic polo style is requested, which includes ladies in hats and men in summer suits. Such a wonderful excuse to sip champagne and break out the seersucker.

Glee Star Jane Lynch Marries Longtime LoveThis is the kind of news that really makes us want to sing! Television’s favorite lady villain Jane Lynch married girlfriend, Lara Embry, at the Blue Heron Restaurant in Sunderland, Massachusetts on Monday. The couple lives in California, but held the ceremony in Massachusetts where same-sex marriage is legal.
Star magazine reports the ceremony for 21 guests was held on the restaurant’s outdoor porch overlooking Sugarloaf Mountain. Lynch and Embry both wore suits to the wedding.
Restaurant employee Scott Mercure told Star, “They’ve been planning the event for the past few months. We were all so excited. They’re really great people. It was a really beautiful event.”
Lindsay Lohan Models SCRAM Bracelet For Charity
Well at least something good is coming out of Lindsay Lohan‘s mandatory alcohol monitoring. The starlet has struck a deal with a photo agency, offering it the exclusivity for the first shots of her with her court-appointed piece of jewelry. In return, the agency has agreed to donate a share of the money it will make by selling it to a charity of Lindsay’s choice that deals with alcohol education.
Lindsay has been trying to hide the bracelet beneath bulky boots (so the wrong season to be busted by the courts). But in the pics shot by her pal photographer Tyler Shields, the bracelet actually resembles a trendy ankle bracelet. Who knows, we could be buying SCRAM knock-offs in Chinatown by week’s end.
