Queen Bee Laura Posada Goes To Bat For Her Family

It was a busy week for Mrs. Laura Posada. She’s married to Yankee catcher Jorge Posada who was suspended for three games for a bench clearing brawl. While his fans may soon forgive and forget,  Laura stopped by Wendy Williams show today to talk about being the unofficial leader of the Yankees’ Wives and that it is the Missus who “sets him straight” when he gets home. And when he does, he will have a lot of explaining to do!

Just for the record, she is no ordinary “baseball wife” either. The former attorney and mother of two is also a certified personal trainer, the co-founder of the Jorge Posada Foundation and now an author. She’s also currently touring cities with her new book, “Fit Home Team.”

The busy missus wrote the book which is compiled of her expert knowledge of fitness strategies and engaging activities for the whole family. There are also some tips on meal prep directly from Laura’s recipe book. The book’s emphasis and goal is to encourage parents to keep your kids active. Laura is passionate about lowering the percentage of obese children in America. Combining their knowledge about fitness, sports and nutrition they applied their formula to the new book. Check out the excerpt.

Maintaining a healthy lifestyle and outlook is priority in the Posada household. Their son, Jorge Luis was born with a birth defect called craniosynostosis. The condition is characterized by the premature fusion of fibers in the skull, resulting in an abnormally-shaped skull. Jorge Luis’ diagnosis was made when he was 10 days old, resulting in eight operations over seven years.

Last week, The Posadas held their 8th annual Heroes4Hope Gala with donations going to the foundation as they continue to provide emotional support to families dealing with the illness.  “Just to see him and have him running around smiling and being a little kid and not worrying about surgeries is just an amazing feeling after being through so much in the past,” Laura tells MLB.com, “He’s the joy of my life, along with my daughter.”
