Today, Regis Philbin announced that this year will be his last hosting Live! with Regis and Kelly.
At the age of 79 (and after 28 years on the show!), he’s ready to move on.
He told the audience, “I don’t want to alarm anybody … but this will be my last year on the show … There is a time that everything must come to an end for certain people on camera, especially certain old people.”
It’s unclear at this point whether he will leave in late summer or fall, but ABC execs said they will be making an announcement about his replacement in the coming months.
