Registration is now open for the 2012 Global Action Forum being held in Los Angeles, CA. In its second year, the two-day event will bring together activists and philanthropic leaders from the entertainment, business, social enterprise and sporting spheres to influence lasting change on global issues, bridging the gap between positive intentions and action.
The conference will examine national and international issues related to hunger, poverty, LGBT/human rights, technology’s impact on social causes, empowering women and girls, water and sanitation, HIV/AIDS, malaria, maternal health, drug abuse, sustainable energy, social enterprise and new business models, and Haiti and natural disaster relief, to name a few. Organizations such as the World Bank, UNICEF, Children’s Health Fund, Entertainment Industries Council, Feeding America, Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation, mPowering, Nexus: Global Youth Summit, The Trevor Project, Entrepreneur Week, USAID, Roll Back Malaria Partnership, NBCUniversal, Sesame Street, GBCHealth, Inc.com, The Kairos Society, Hollywood Unites For Haiti, KIPP, Accenture, and the Sandbox Network will contribute to the conversation, igniting action in the philanthropic world.
The event also features the Global Action Awards, a gala that recognizes the amount of power each individual has to solve problems, save lives and impact the future, acknowledging those who have committed their talents, time, and personal and professional brands to a global movement for change.
