Rock Out and Save the Rainforest

800px-amazon_57.53278w_2.71207s.jpgJust last week, we rattled off a rollicking good roster of upcoming performance festivals that are begging to figure prominently into your summertime plans. Today, for your consideration, is a hot tip for those of you who want to incorporate an act of kindness into your rocking out.

Thanks to the dedicated conservation professionals at the Rainforest Foundation, we learn of the organization’s partnership with Tickets For Charity. This online shop for seats to some of the biggest acts in music (and to the hottest sporting events as well) offers tickets at competitive prices with a portion of the proceeds going to the Rainforest Foundation. Sting (who founded the organization with his wife Trudie Styler), James Taylor and Carole King and Earth Wind & Fire are among the acts that music fans can catch while including a little act of generosity with the purchase of tickets.

It’s incredibly easy: head to the Tickets For Charity website, pick the artist or event you’re just itching to see, and select Rainforest Foundation US as the charitable organization you wish to receive the partial proceeds from your purchase. Or, perhaps you’ll find another participating organization whose outreach and efforts are especially close to your heart. Dozens of charities are partnering with Tickets For Charity; joining Rainforest Foundation are Oxfam America, City Year, The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society among plenty of others.

Having a good time while doing good? That sure sounds like a winning combination.
