A Dutch navy sailor lost his waterproof digital camera while diving off the island of Aruba in November 2009. In May 2010, a US Coast Guard agent Paul Schultz found the camera on the beach in Key West, Fla., and uploaded the content onto the internet. Between the 1,100 mile journey from Aruba to Florida, a curious sea turtle got his hands on the camera and recorded himself swimming. Watch the video.
AFP suggests that, “the camera likely took a roundabout journey on the Loop Current, which would have taken it from Aruba to the coast of Central America, past Belize and the Yucatan peninsula, around the western coast of Cuba, into the Gulf Stream and on to the Florida Keys.”
Too bad the camera ran out of memory. The footage could have made a new show on Discovery!
