This morning, Europeans woke to find a partial solar eclipse visible just after dawn. It could also be seen from the Middle East, Kazakhstan, Mongolia and parts of Russia and China, according to the AFP.
In a solar eclipse, the moon passes between the Earth and the sun and casts a shadow, blocking our visibility of the sun. Many viewers wore sunglasses or some form of protection while gazing.
The next partial solar eclipse will be on June 1 of this year, but you’ll have to wait until Nov. 13, 2012 for the next full solar eclipse.
