
Hip-hop has a rap for promoting violence, glorifying drugs and objectifying women. Somalian rapper K’naan is an exception.
Born in Mogadishu, arguably one of the most dangerous cities on earth, K’naan doesn’t use his background to dwell on violence, but rather uses deep thought and poetic lyrics to encourage the world to end violence.
According to CNN, if he’s not making listeners think — about Africa, about poverty, about love or life or hatred — well, he should hang up the mic and find another profession.
