Flying Tomato! And It’s Not Shaun White.

tomatina.jpg An estimated 40,000 people come to Bunol, Spain every year from all over the world to go bananas with tomatoes. The hour-long food fight, known as La Tomatina, leaves the small town looking like a massacre had just taken place, but thankfully in this battle, there is no bloodshed.

The 60-year-old tradition brings in 220,000 pounds of delicious ripe tomatoes (costing the town about $35,406) for people to hurl at each other. Sound like fun? We hope you like tomato sauce.

There are a few rules to keep in mind:

1. You must crush the tomatoes before you throw them.

2. Refrain from tearing other people’s clothing, as to not provoke a fight.

3. It is recommended to wear goggles and disposable clothes.

Now’s a good time to start planning your trip for next year!
