Starbucks has mastered the mornings. They’re also pretty good at giving you that much-needed midday kick in the pants. But unless you’re in desperate need for yet another jolt after work, you probably won’t be seen at the coffee shop.
The company is trying to change that. With a interior makeover and a few additions to the menu, including beer and wine, you might just move in and marry the barista. In the store’s founding city of Seattle, they revamped their look to be more restaurant- and bar-like, using recycled materials, while working with local artists in the community. The decor is similar to what you know, but doesn’t necessarily scream “Starbucks.”
The coffeemaker’s goal is to create an ambiance that is so stylish and comfortable that you choose it over a restaurant/bar after 4 p.m. And why not? At the new Starbucks, you can have a rinse with local beers and wines, while munching on locally produced cheeses and fine meats. If the new look turns out to be success, you might see one pop up in your neighborhood.
