Susan Boyle captured the heart of the nation, when she rose to fame last year, wowing fans with her incredible voice. Now, Tonic’s No. 1 Most Beautiful Person of 2009 plans to write an autobiography on how she conquered her fears to achieve her dream.
As reported on the BBC, Boyle’s The Woman I Was Born To Be will be published in the UK, this fall. The story will chart the 49-year-old’s rapid rise to fame and she hopes its message will inspire other people to follow her lead and never give up on their dreams. “I’m writing this book to try to show that you shouldn’t judge a book by its cover and I hope it will benefit other people,” she said on her new writing venture.
No one could have anticipated the “Susan Boyle effect” but when the frumpy looking Scot, got up on stage last year to perform for Simon Cowell on the UK show Britain’s Got Talent. Boyle showed the world that looks can be deceiving. Becoming an Internet sensation, her debut album, I Dreamed A Dream, sold over 8 million copies worldwide and Boyle appeared on TV screens around the world.
However, the pitfalls of fame soon became evident and last year, Boyle suffered a well-publicized breakdown that landed her in London’s Priory clinic for several days and since then, there have been various reports of public meltdowns. A spokesperson for publisher, Transworld says the book will tackle the good and the bad, including the “challenges she has struggled to overcome with faith, fortitude and an unfailing sense of humor.”
Susan Boyle, who still lives in the small village of Blackburn, Scotland, with her cat Pebbles said: “I hope that it will show that dreams are not impossible, if you’ve got courage and a willingness to go on no matter what the circumstances.”
Go SuBo!!!
