The Anti-Gossip: March 3, 2010

Jay Leno Returns to The Tonight Show: He wasn’t welcomed back with entirely open arms, but Leno’s return to The Tonight Show marked a peaceful end to the late-night wars and controversy that have plagued NBC in the past months. He even managed to host Sarah Palin and Adam Lambert on Tuesday night with nary a glitch.

Will.I.Am Does MASSIVEGOOD: The Black Eyed Pea took time out from his busy touring schedule to record a song at Esquire House for new charity MASSIVEGOOD — and make a donation with one simple click. By allowing online travelers to donate $2 when they book plane tickets, the founders of the charity aim to funnel billions of dollars to improve the health of the world’s poorest.

Oscar Buzz is Building: The ceremony’s not until Sunday, but the entertainment industry movers and shakers have already started celebrating. The Wrap’s party attracted past winners like Adrian Brody and Robert Duvall, and The L.A. Times’ event at The Hollywood Museum featured items from several nominated films, like Sandra Bullock’s dress from The Blind Side.

Jon Stewart Teaches Sanchez a Lesson: Rick Sanchez recently had some trouble explaining what happened in Chile over the weekend. He also needed help with the metric system. Luckily, Jon Stewart was on hand to sort out the confusion.

Andre Agassi’s Benefit for Education: The tennis great is hosting an elite event at this year’s BNP Paribas Open to help raise money for his Educational Foundation, which includes Agassi Prep, a charter school in Las Vegas. Agassi will also be playing with Pete Sampras, Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer in a charity match called Hits for Haiti that’s expected to raise over $1 million for earthquake relief.
