Jennie Garth Hopes to Start a Chain Reaction of Kindness

Kind Healthy Snack bars aren’t only good for your waistline, they’re also proving to be beneficial for everything from helping sick children to providing computers to schools. KIND bar recently launched their Do the KIND Thing initiative which rewards people for doing ‘not so’ random acts of kindness. 90210‘s Jennie Garth kick started the trend by hanging out with kids at the UCLA Children’s Hospital where they chatted and painted each other’s nails. For her ‘not so’ random act of kindness, KIND will donate $10,000 to Jennie’s charity of choice, The Lollipop Theatre.

Zorro Takes on Poverty

Antonio Banderas has joined the ranks of Angelina Jolie, recently being appointed Goodwill Ambassador by the United Nations Development Program. The near 50-year-old sexy star’s main mission will be to work on Millennium Development Goals that aim to slice world poverty in half by 2015. Antonio said in a statement, “Poverty robs us of our potential as a people, preventing us from being all that we can be….This is why it is so important to mobilize all of our efforts to defeat it.”

Dream of Being on Mad Men?

If so, that dream can come true. Planned Parenthood Los Angeles is auctioning off a walk-on role on Season 4 of AMC’s Mad Men with 100 percent of the bid (currently at $4000 and climbing) benefiting PPLA. The winner will get a 1960′s hair and wardrobe makeover for their cameo television experience and can bring a friend to watch. Matthew Weiner, the creator/executive producer, said, “As a longtime supporter of Planned Parenthood, I’m happy to donate this unique experience to support the important work of the organization.”

Cute Couple of the Day

Tom Cruise and Kate Holmes had a date night in Hollywood, making an unannounced appearance at the premiere of The Hot Tub Time Machine starring John Cusack. The film, about a group of guys who travel back in time by way of a time-bending hot tub opens in theaters Friday.
