Former Microsoft executive John Wood is the founder of Room to Read, an the international nonprofit committed to building libraries so children can learn to read and write.
Wood became inspired when he was traveling in Nepal about 10 years ago and was shocked by the lack of resources for youth in rural villages. He immediately quit his job and has since been devoted to providing educational opportunities for children in the developing world.
