Say what you what about celebutantes, the Kardashian girls are once again proving they give as much as they take. These girls are thinking of the greater good (when they aren’t indulging in petty sibling rivalries and doing other things sisters do to terrorize one another).
After nearly being stranded by losing her passport, Kim Kardashian along with boyfriend New Orleans Saints’ own Reggie Bush and sister Khloe arrived in Botswana as representives of Russell Simmons’ Diamond Empowerment Fund, a foundation backed by companies like DeBeers that assists “economically disadvantaged people in African nations where diamonds are a natural resource” by raising money for education. Kim is learning things as well, she tweeted this fact, “Did u know 75% of Botswana’s economy is supported by diamonds!”
While Kim learned more about the diamond industry and all its spoils, little sister Khloe stopped through to a feeding facility and blogged about her experience “All of the children were so adorable — getting to spend time with them was definitely my favorite part of the trip.” Meanwhile, Reggie Bush was deeply touched by his experience blogging on the DEF’s website “It is life changing to be in the Motherland with my mom … It’s been such an incredible week — I don’t even know where to start.”
Reggie has gone ahead and done his good deed for the summer, by pledging nearly $45,000 to the Motswedi Rehabilitation Center which assists handicapped children in the region.
Oh and he found Kim’s passport.
