This Table is Made of Money

I was hanging out at Jean-Michel Cousteau’s Ambassadors of the Environment center at the Ritz-Carlton in Kapalua, and a staff member was like “we try to use a lot of recycled materials, like, that table’s made of money.”

All I heard after that was “blah blah blah.” A table made of money!?

Turns out it’s shetkastone, which is “a surface material used for tables and counter tops that is made from waste paper.” Shetkastone is just one of the green table materials available from Baltix, a sustainable furniture company in Minnesota.

Sure, it might not be the most attractive thing I’ve ever seen, but as with many things in life, once you realize it’s made of money it looks pretty good. Baltix can make you a whole cafeteria, classroom, or office of this stuff. Click here for more information!
