Threadless Holiday Tee – Support Young Artists

Threadless.com is known for two things. Firstly, there’s the t-shirts. I’ve been a fan since I received a “Giraffes United Against Ceiling Fans” shirt for my birthday a year or so ago.Their shirts are witty, cool, and there’s always something new. Seriously. Every week.

They other thing they’re known for is creating a whole community around the t-shirt design concept. From having people vote on funny tweets to hosting design contests, Threadless interacts with their audience by letting them have a say in what they want to wear, and treating t-shirt art like what it is: art.

This year’s tee for the holidays is no exception — the t-shirt selected was designed by Daniel Absenour, a young artist from a small town in France whose design is quirky, cool and festive. He’s pictured here with his girlfriend at the New Museum release party of his totally awesome shirt, below.

The shirt is available for $18 on the website, and is available for men and women. At New Museum, the t-shirt will also be available on black.

We think the Threadless art community is a really cool thing and encourage you to bounce around their site and vote for their “Bestee of the Month” — maybe you’ll be inspired to enter yourself! You can win fame and a lot of t-shirt money.
