What would you do if you won the lottery? Would you quit your job, perhaps go on a wild spending spree or maybe buy up as much butter as you could in the hopes of devoting your life to the fine art of butter sculpture?
So just me on the last one then, huh?
Well, one woman in California didn’t take very long to figure out what she would do if she won the lottery. According to Sacarmento’s CBS13, Beverly Evens of Anderson bought one of the California Lottery $5 Scratchers at a store in Redding, scratched away and found out that she won a whopping $2 million over the next 25 years. She’s not quitting her job at Wal-Mart, she and her husband aren’t traveling the world and she’s probably not planning to sculpt with butter (against my better judgment …).
What she is doing is spending it on her goats. Evens first rescued a goat (Bucky) nine years ago and has since saved other goats, many of whom had been mistreated. While the couple will spend some money on flooring for themselves, most of the money will be spent on “hay, goat toys and fencing.” It’s likely that Evens will rescue more animals, so the money will certainly be going toward a good cause.
