Warren Buffett Channels Axl Rose in New Geico Commerical … Seriously

buffett.jpgSo Warren Buffett dresses up as an Axl Rose-style rocker in a Geico commericial …

Yeah, we know that kinda sounds like the first line of a joke, but we assure you it’s 100 percent true — and have linked to the you-can’t-make-this-stuff-up commercial below.

Sure, Buffett doesn’t exactly exude the requisite bad-assery of a rocker, but it turns out the Oracle of Omaha knows his way around a headband bandana and fake tats — and boldly belts out a few lines of the tune, too.

Actually, Buffett’s Geico appearance does make some sense when you consider that his company, Berkshire Hathaway, owns the insurance giant. Geico has always been known for its kooky commercials anyhow, although this one likely takes the cake. It also features that ubiquitous gecko rocking out on guitar and a number of real Geico employees singing a cheesy ballad on customer service.

Believe it or not, this isn’t the first time the mogul — who Forbes recently named the third-richest man in the world — has made an unexpected entertainment move. He’s appeared on All My Children twice. The first time was in 1992 and the second was in 2008, when he used his financial prowess to help Erica Kane (AKA Susan Lucci) get outta some trouble — take that, James Franco!

Clearly Buffett is a true renaissance man. In addition to amassing a gigantic fortune, he’s also one of the most charitable guys around, and has pledged to give away 85 percent of his fortune to worthy causes.

Plus, his son Peter Buffett is on Tonic’s Board of Creators, so you know they have a pretty amazing gene pool!

So thanks, Warren Buffett, for reminding billionaires everywhere not to take themselves too seriously. And for a good laugh, too.
