We Love Harrison Ford’s Totally Interactive Internet Eco Game

Ecotopia, a new green-themed game on Facebook (similar to Farmville) will hit the Internet on April 4, backed by none other than actor and environmentalist Harrison Ford.

“I’m excited to be involved with Ecotopia because I see it as a great way to engage millions of people in our fight to protect our planet by taking action online and in our daily lives,” Ford told the Hollywood Reporter. “As we work to address the most fundamental issues facing humanity, I think Ecotopia will help get people involved in a way that is fun, educational and meaningful.”

Here’s how it works: The player is dealt a trashed urban environment and the goal is to reverse the problems and rebuild a sustainable city. He or she can also engage with Facebook friends, sending gifts and visiting their virtual neighborhoods. Every month, players will face new villains.

One of the coolest parts is just how interactive the game is, even in the real world. You can earn extra points if you do a real world act (and upload a photo of yourself doing it) and even more points if your friends verify that you are as good as you claim you are!
