We told you Tuesday that pop singer Nelly Furtado announced plans to donate the $1 million she received for performing for the family of much-maligned Libyan dictator Muammar al-Qaddafi to charity. We also told you that a lot of other pop stars had performed for the Qaddafis and were staying mum about it.
Now superstar Beyonce is admitting that she also received payments from the Qaddafis for a 2009 New Year’s Eve concert, but her camp says she already donated the cash — to Bill Clinton and George H.W. Bush.
The singer’s publicist, Yvette Noel-Schure, told Rolling Stone that the fees from the concert were donated to Haiti earthquake-relief efforts. A representative for the Clinton-Bush Haiti Fund confirmed to the Huffington Post that Beyoncé donated $1 million to the Clinton Foundation following the earthquake.
Happy to hear it, B. Still waiting to hear what Mariah Carey and Usher did with their big paydays.
