Will Sears Give a Billion Points to Trekkies?

We’ve told you about Sears Billion Points video contest before, but in case you need a refresher, watch the video below. The retail giant is listening to your ideas of how you would spend $1 million (the equivalent to 1 billion Shop Your Way Rewards points). Oh, and they’re giving that $1 million away too! And here’s where it gets interesting: You can only keep half for yourself. The other half has to go entirely to a favored cause of the Sears group (Rebuilding Together, March of Dimes, or St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital), or $250,000 goes to one of those three organizations while the rest (of the charitable $500,000 portion) goes to a nonprofit of your choosing.

We got so excited about the contest here at Tonic, that we made a video of our own.

nerds.jpgLook Out! Nerf Atttaaaaaccccckkkk!

It sounds like something out of Improv Everywhere, but Robert from Missouri wants to spend $500,000 on throwing one helluva Nerf War. Who’s invited? Everyone. No more last one picked at gym class for you! Grab your gun and start battling Nerf style.

If I Paid You $500,000, Would You Play Starcraft II With Me?

Sean from Wisconsin just wants a gaming buddy. But be careful out there, word on the street is he’s wicked good and might beat you at Starcraft II. But with $500,000, he’ll buy you your own game, so you can practice and play happily after with your new buddy Sean. “I’m just going to give everybody a copy of Starcraft II,” he says. “I mean, that’s a lot of copies of Starcraft II.”

Pimp Out my Science Lab
Lisa Laughlin from St. Andrew’s School of Math and Science in South Carolina had a little help from her fourth graders when making her video. What do her kids need? Technology: computers, iPods, video cameras and maybe if they team up with Sean from Wisconsin, they can get a copy of Starcraft II. But until those two meet, her students are dancing to the pediatric version of Madonna‘s “Girls Just Wanna Have Fun.”

Sears is a sponsor of Tonic’s Thoughtbubble.
