We all do it. Some of us only do it when we’re completely alone. Others do it when they know someone can hear. Some of us will only do it on a dare.
Yodel, silly, I’m talking yodeling and singing, but mostly yodeling. And Yahoo now wants you to share your talents with the rest of the world right on the big wide Web.
Surf over to Yahoo’s yodel studio and mix up your own song or yodel. Yahoo wants you to be loud, funny, serious or “seriously silly, but most of all just be you.”
In return, Yahoo will donate $10 for the classroom project you choose at DonorsChoose.org. If your song or yodel video scores big with viewers, you can attain “gold” status (1,000 views) or even become an Internet celebrity by achieving platinum status.
Yahoo’s even offering up the necessary tools for those who may not have a Web cam or recording software on their computer. You can even select a backup track to accompany your lyrical effort. And Yahoo’s gone to the mat to provide some formidable back-up band members, including Grammy nominee songwriters and musicians.
And if you’re a bit shy, or maybe need some inspiration, you can view some unique yodel interpretations by fellow songbirds from around the globe.
Yahoo’s even brought some heavyweight entertainment names into its promotional effort on the program, and is hosting various events here and in the U.K. with formidable performers including Randy Jackson and Pete Wentz.
One spunky participant, pinkyc cruz, even included her cute little dog in her entry (see above photo).
So go, be free, yodel to your heart’s content, and do a good deed at the same time.
