Yo Gabba Gabba! LIVE! teams up with charity partner Baby Buggy® to hold children’s book drives at Los Angeles and New York shows
(New York, NY – October 12, 2011)- S2BN Entertainment, producer of Yo Gabba Gabba! LIVE! It’s Time to Dance! Presented by Kia Motors, announced today that they will hold children’s book drives at their Los Angeles and New York shows to benefit underprivileged families served by the tour’s charity partner Baby Buggy, a non-profit organization that provides essential equipment, products, clothing, and educational services for infants and children up to age 12.
Yo Gabba Gabba! LIVE! audiences are asked to bring new and gently used English and Spanish language books to New York’s Beacon Theater and LA’s Nokia Theatre shows on October 14th, 15th & 16th and November 25th & 26th respectively. The books will be collected and distributed by Baby Buggy to local children in need.
The book drive is just one of many initiatives to arise as part of the philanthropic partnership between Yo Gabba Gabba! LIVE! and Baby Buggy. S2BN Entertainment donated 40 tickets to each show in Minneapolis, Chicago, Washington, D.C., New York, and Los Angeles so Baby Buggy families across the country can educate, delight, and captivate their children with the Gabba gang. Yo Gabba Gabba! LIVE! also provided four VIP packages—including floor seats, access to a private VIP party, an autographed picture, and the opportunity to meet and take a photo with the Gabba cast—in each of the five cities, which went up for auction on CharityFolks.com to raise funds for Baby Buggy.
Simon & Schuster has also teamed up with the Gabba gang and Baby Buggy to give back to the community. The publishing house has committed to donating a children’s book in honor of every person who purchases a VIP package in one of the 55 cities visited by the Yo Gabba Gabba! LIVE! tour, pledging to provide approximately 60,000 books to Baby Buggy’s deserving families. The Simon & Schuster donation will include a variety of titles that range from newborn to age 12 reading levels, supporting children’s literacy at all stages of growth.
After performing for an expected quarter of a million fans over the next two months, the Yo Gabba Gabba! LIVE! It’s Time to Dance! tour will wrap on Sunday, December 11th – the same week that Baby Buggy will officially celebrate its 10 year anniversary.
