Dress Like a Star
Kate Mara, Carmen Electra and Taryn Manning were among the ladies decked out in pieces from the found by collection at the opening night party for found by, a new LA boutique stocking unique and unusual women’s vintage pieces.
Those same successful women are donating the clothes they wore to an Apr. 5 auction on the shop’s newly launched site to benefit Chrysalis, a Los Angeles based nonprofit organization dedicated to helping economically disadvantaged and homeless individuals become self-sufficient through employment opportunities.
Kim’s A-Twitter Helping Haiti
The crisis in Haiti may have diminished from daily headlines, but there is still a long road ahead for the Haitians and their recovery. Kim Kardashian Tweeted for the cause, spurring her followers to buy a tent and save a life in Haiti. Desperate Housewives‘ Eva Longoria filmed a clip for Home in Haiti’s website, encouraging viewers to see the continued the brevity of the situation. In the video Eva said, “After a devastating earthquake left over a million people homeless, Haiti now faces its’ annual hurricane season. If we do not respond, thousands of people including seniors, children and those recovering from injuries, will die.”
Climbing Abroad and Feeding Hungry at Home
Actor Scott Wolf may be busy working on his hit ABC drama V, but while the show was on hiatus, the philanthropic-spirited actor sojourned to China where he (along with Tonic columnist Ethan Zohn) trekked a section of the Great Wall of China to raise money for Olivia Newton John‘s new cancer center in Australia. The 41-year-old actor we remember fondly, and still love from Party of Five shared with Ethan, that when at home, he puts a lot of his time and support behind Feeding America. “I was completely bowled over by the numbers of hungry people, especially children, in the United States. One in four children in this country live in a food insecure home. That means, that day to day, they aren’t sure if there will be enough to eat. To me that was dumbfounding,” he said, adding, “I am committed, as is Kelley, to doing our part to help ensure that these hungry children are not ignored.”
Puppy Love
We caught Carried Underwood in NYC mid-smooch and clearly in love — and not with her fiancé, NFL star Mike Fischer. But, Mike doesn’t have to be jealous, well, not too much. The American Idol winner’s smooch was for a pooch while she was at the 6th Annual Pedigree Adoption Drive in New York lend a hand to raise awareness on pet adoptions from shelters.
Cute Couple of the Day
The Black Eyed Peas sold out back-to-back shows at LA’s Staples Center, and while Fergie heated up the crowd in sexy skin-tight, skin-bearing numbers, no one got more excited than her hubby, Josh Duhamel, who witnesses said, “Was proudly dancing backstage while his wife was on the mic.” Tom Cruise his son Connor Cruise and Katie Holmes were also among the stars singing along backstage.
